A decade of teaching weekly private and group lessons has allowed me to help students of all ages embrace the transformative power of music.

I am currently accepting students ages 13 and up.

Custom lesson plans for each student means every lesson is a unique yet focused experience.
Some students need a set of structured lesson plans to achieve goals such as learning the basics of drumming.
Other students are already in very structured environments like school music programs and need supplemental creative, cultural, and technical support.
With each student, I adapt my experiences from over 20 years of playing, research, and ten years of developing pedagogical systems, to their learning style.
I involve exercises that I’ve seen boost my strengths and help my weaknesses, and reference historical and cultural contexts to illustrate a comprehensive understanding of the practice.

I am based in Chicago and teach primarily on Zoom where I can access my own setup and the student has theirs. I can also come to your home for clients in Chicago.
I am also open to providing a lesson whenever I am within 20 miles of your residence. Please email to coordinate.
